I learned how to drive with a with "Stick shift" and that was 50 years ago. I've driven tens of thousands of miles in a variety of stick-shift/Standard transmission cars; I've never burnt out a clutch.
I've had a problem the last couple of years with the reservoir being low and I have had to add brake fluid. Two weeks ago I could not shift it while driving so I had it towed to a local dealer, today I received a call telling me my clutch is the problem and it needs to be replaced for nearly $3000.00!
Admittedly, I run the car through it's passes but I've never pulled hole-shots or laid circles of rubber going round & round. I don't beat it.
Is it possible that the clutch is really worn out or should I be looking at something else?
