What is the top speed you have been in your Slingshot?
I'm putting a CAI and Alpha side exit exhaust on my SL.Standard SL tire size 20 in the back and 18 up front.
I have CAI free flowing catless exhaust and a tune from Bob.
Dyno results showing 171 rwhp.
You don't need a tune after a CAI and Alpha exhaust. The ECU will compensate for the changes.I'm putting a CAI and Alpha side exit exhaust on my SL.
Is it necessary to tune it, or do the sensors and ECU compensate for the changes?
I'm confused about this "tuning", is it just a reflash of the ECU, or a Dyno tuned map?
You have to send the ECU to @MEFIburn to get tuned. Are you using an interface, like a power commander, or is he just somehow modifying the ECU map?
Apparently he created the map on the dyno with a slingshot. But as we know not all CAI and exhaust are created equal so I guess you can consider it a "generic" tune that is much better than the stock.. The much better part is the opinion of the many folks on here who have had it done and not my personal opinion since I haven't had it done.So it's NOT Dyno tuned?
It's just a PC created map?
@RABTECH there is a trophy girl at the next gas stop she works behind the counter and has some of her own teeth!Video or it didn't happen. I can tell you that the SS isn't going to make it to 130 without a long long long flat straight road. And that is with at least 8psi of boost. The bad aerodynamics eat up so much power once you hit a true 120mph. I have "one of many" of the strongest Turbo SS on the road and I have a 4 lane road near me that has hardly any cars and hardly any cops. And I have laid into mine starting at 120mph and she will make sweet noise and pull hard but once I get to 130 (that tiny hash mark under 120 on your speedometers) it just doesn't want to go much faster. Holding her to the floor just seems cruel to me. I am betting she will do 140 but the biggest question is WHY? I can bet you that there is NO trophy girl at the next gas station.
I'm not saying that I don't want to see a video of the speedometers laying on 150 but be careful and remember I have a video of mine showing a tick over 130.
Keyboards do prove anything. POST THE VIDEO PEOPLE!!!![emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1]
so that when you set the speedo to KPH, it reads correctly.well Polaris must have known that we were going to have turbos on a LOT of these. Why else would they have a speedometer that goes up to 220 mph?
So it's NOT Dyno tuned?
It's just a PC created map?
If you want to know which values where changed you need to talk with Bob the tuner, he told me he changed about 4000 values in about 10 tables.I'm curious as to what values were changed on the ECU, and whether this would void the warranty or not? I paid extra for the extended warranty.
On Saul's recommendation I went with the wing and also added the front splitter. Noticeable difference at the rear, I think the Bilstein shock set up helped even more. For lack of a suitable place to push to the max 102 was the best I have had so far. There was definitely more there. Only engine mods were CAI and Exhaust. In July I was playing with a Corvette on I-90 West bound just West of Bozeman MT. He pulled in front of me and hit it. I was doing 90 mph in 5th, so I removed my cap, and punched it. When I quickly caught up with him I looked at my cell phone in it's holder on my windshield support mount. I have a GPS speed app. It indicated 145 mph. I smiled. He didn't know what I was in, but was surprised.
Love that Alpha Turbo and the Carbon Fiber Wing.
