Why Do You Carry a Gun Grandpa ???

Well son sit right down There , and let me school ya a bit ... I didn't just fall off the turnip truck and hit my head like these moronic libtards want you to believe .
My Paw toll me how they rounded up their guns put um on reservations to eat dust and die or beat the odds and survive , but that's another story for another day son ,
Let me git back to my days .... I lived through World War Two ,
fought in Korea to defend the rights of the South Korea's and to guard the 38th Parallel against this type of communist government ,
sent family off to the Berlin Crisis ,
Lebanon Crisis ,
Vietnam , The Gulf , Somalia , Kosovo and The Mid East Wars
And son , not all of um come home .
And many still suffer , from all the goins on of these tyrannic governments .
So son just sit there a bit longer
whiles I give you some History to chew on ....
But let me explain myself first ....
"Son, there comes a time in every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take a whoopin'."
I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government; I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry;
I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone;
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police protection is available but
Free citizens must protect themselves because police cannot protect you fromall crime; they investigate the crime after it happens, and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take a whoopin'!
NOW son here's your HISTORY LESSON
And remember history tends to repeat itself
If we don't learn from it ! !
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control:
From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control:
From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938:
From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
China established gun control in 1935:
From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964:
From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970:
From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956:
From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
56 million defenseless people were rounded up and exterminated in the 20th century because of gun control.
-----------------------
You won't see this data on the US evening news or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. With guns, we are 'citizens'; without them, we are 'subjects'. During WW II, the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
Gun owners in the USA are the largest armed forces in the World!
If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense.
The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either.
SWITZERLAND......... issues a gun to EVERY HOUSEHOLD! SWITZERLAND'S GOVERNMENT ISSUES AND TRAINS EVERY ADULT IN THE USE OF A RIFLE. and..........
SWITZERLAND has the LOWEST gun-related crime rate of any civilized country in the WORLD. IT'S A NO BRAINER! DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.
I'm a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment! If you are too, please forward this.
If you're not a believer, please ...........reconsider the facts.
This is history; not what's being shown on TV, sanctioned by our illustrious delusional leaders in Washington.
Guns are a lot like parachutes; if you need one and don't have one, you will probably NEVER need one again!

I live in CA, I carry my keys, wallet, and cellphone.

When I lived in WA I carried my Kimber Kustom. Now it just lays next to my bed... :(

I can't wait to move back to WA. Until then I'll continue to enjoy the nice weather year around for my slingshot and me.

As an old man that has been there and done that more than most of you, I would like to offer some advice. With my background, I know that you should not give out more info than you want those that oppose you would use against you. I know I did but that was to write and sell a book. If you wonder what my background is, do a search on some of my posts.
The point I am trying to make is that if you post that you carry or what you carry, that info is there if the lefties ever get to the point to use it to round things up to force their politics down your throat. I know that most of you would use what you have to stop that, but if they don't know about you, they don't know enough to come after you. Every post you make and organization you belong to, provides information about you. Be careful or it may someday be used against you. I hope this helps, but it is all up to you.

Agreed, for all of you that have "carry" permits, your name is now on a very handy list so when the time comes, (and it will), guess who's door "they" are going to be busting in first?

The big problem is we "need permission" to carry lawfully. It should be the other way around, those who don't ensure their own safety should be taxed for the services of the police.

Wisconsin doesn't require firearms registration. There is a background check if purchasing from a dealer, but not for private sales.

Good argument for leaving a false trail (electronically)

You two do know that you have to register your guns right? It's not like they are closely guarded personal secrets. It's not hard to find out if someone owns a gun. I'm really shocked to see some of these post.
No. That's a blanket statement that is not true.

In fact in states such as mine, it is against state law to require firearm registration.

I don't have to register my guns in Oregon. Only if buying a new gun do you have to register it at time of sale. Private sales are still not required to be individually registered although new laws require the seller to run a background check on the buyee.
Guns laws are easily found at the above posted site I recommend www.usacarry.com for reciprocity state maps. For current, updated laws always research the state.org sites.
