Just had a teenage dream come true last week. In high school saw the T-rex come out and thought i need one some day but was disappointed by the sticker price and put that dream on a dusty shelf. Until i saw the slingshot come out and figured some day i could at least afford a used one. Well after shopping around for a few years my wife and i where able to pick one up. My only problem is not much of a community in NB Canada or service centers but that is ok because i don't mind learning and doing basic stuff on my own. The real goal now is to have my wife fall in love with it and for us to get a new one in a few years ;).

Welcome to the forum Mustang and also to the wife. Now listen to her as you ride, if she says the floorboard is hot, you may need to add some mods like insulation to the underneath area of the Floorboard. On the early models, the firewall will get hot, Insulation can help there. Air vents on early models can help. You came to our forum to learn what you need to know from other owners, so I would like to invite you to look at my vast Thread on Slingshot information along with video to help with the many subjects I cover for the Slingshot. I have designed it for the new owners and the things I think he or she may want to know. Look at the Index and find subjects that interest you the most and click to go to those areas. Enjoy your Slingshot!

Thanks Sam and rest assured i have already availed myself to your videos. In fact i looked over a good many of them over the years. They definitely gave me more confidence to to do regular maintenance myself. In week one i have already done an oil change, greased the U-joint, clutch fluid, and angel drive oil and an air filter is on the way.

Greeting from Washington.
I am new to the forum thing so please be patient. I currently purchased a 2017 SLR, Orange Madness, 8000 miles. I have owned it now for a month and really enjoy taking it out for a spin. I do have a question about the mounting screws on the back of the upper seat, the tabs that the screws go into are broken. Any fixes besides replacing the seatback at $375 a pop? i have tried epoxy but broke loose again when putting screw back in.

I am not sure which but I think it was some of the 2017 that had some bad seats. I think that a lot of them were replace by Polaris ... check with a dealer near you. You can check the recall list.

Greetings and Salutations!

My wife and I just bought a 2020 R Miami Blue Autostick Afterburner Orange design. I was a motorcycle rider for years before I met the wife and sold my bike to buy our first house. I already had a number of expensive and time consuming hobbies that don't involve my family and wanted something more inclusive for Steph. She was adamant about not riding her own bike and wasn't super comfortable on a trike so we test fit and test drove the Sling. She might drive it, so Autostick (sigh), but it's as close as I'll get to riding again I think.

We are picking it up today and hoping for a few good days before it gets too cold as we live in southern NH.

Looking forward to having some fun and tweaking the performance in the future (stupid extended warranty).

If anyone local to the North of Boston area is a fellow Slingshot owner, please let us know and we can meet up!

Best

Jeff and Steph G

New here and to Slingshots after riding Harleys for years thus the name 2 to 3 (wheels). I have a 2015 grey metallic that I have been adding some mods to. I love cars and bikes so this thing satisfies both arenas for me. From a personal standpoint, my name is Jim Wharton and I am a retired senior research and development analyst in the aerospace industry for 29 years and a custom knife maker for 30+ years. I live in Udall, KS. I look forward to learning from you experienced slingshot owners here.

Hello, I am new to the forum, so thank you for allowing me in. We are actually Harley riders and looking to changing to a Polaris, we have rented them so we are familiar with them so the question is new or used? Also, are they any major red lights we should look for if we purchased a used one? How many miles do people normally have on them? We have seen anywhere from 2000 to 30000. Thank you for your input.

Hello New to the forum and new to the world of slingshots

This year is our 25th wedding anniversary. We had wanted to take a big vacation but with covid it probably wont happen. So we were looking for another way to have a memorial summer. We decided to buy a slingshot, drive it for the summer and sell it later. We will lose money, but just vacation level and we will have a summer to remember. So far this has been enough fun that it may not get sold

Rock on with life, fellow SS addicts :)

A month ago, SLNGIT my new addiction came to my life.
Thanks ro previous owner Eric S who gladly let me inherit the baby.
I was gonna get a new one but I have to mod it. So this '15 with 6k miles is
all modded as if the old owner read my mind exactly what I wanted :)

In a month's time I put in 1k (s)miles..
That's compared to my '18 C7 GS Corvette
that I only drove 2k miles in the past 2 years..
and '01 Chrysler Prowler driving it 400 miles in the past 2 years

Helyas, I feel like a kid again while cruisin happily to drag main & newfound places>
Yup life is too frikkin short.. :)

Hello all. I am new to the forum, and have had my 2016 Slingshot SL since last June. I am in the Bakersfield, Ca. area, and I hope I can learn more about the SS on here, as well as finding other SS owners in my area to brainstorm with, and maybe get together for some rides. Hopefully I can contribute a little bit on here as well. Let the fun begin!
