Funny you should mention that. Cause I'm at the store as we speak buying more copper plugs. I replace them every 2 weeks.
Funny you should mention that. Cause I'm at the store as we speak buying more copper plugs. I replace them every 2 weeks.Have them check the plugs and coils. Had same thing happen on my Evo when we cranked up the boost. Coils where weak, changed them then it was blowing out the spark. Had E2 plugs in it. Changed plugs all was good. It smelled like it was flooding all the time and was missing in 5th anytime you would try to accelerate. Just a thought good luck.
Using the copper plugs the manufacturer recommended. Change coils and all. If you can think it I did it. Even removed entire turbo and reinstalled. Are you using the plugs @RABTECH has been recommending? Been there with plugs on a different animal. Have them check the coils, shouldn't be bad this early but you never know. Also sounds like possible tune issue. I would ask or insist for a reflash if nothing mechanical turns up. Understand frustrating times. Things like this don't affect the masses just the few with great luck! Like myself. Just can't win the lottery. Good luck!
I'm on vacation until Sunday and I left the bike with the mechanic who installed the turbo to go over his work for the 4th time. If no change I will up load a video .Without video and audio we can only take random stabs at a solution. Ill wait to see what he finds out from Funinthesun and then maybe he will post a video.
will do. Have a great vacationIll be on vacation tomorrow until Sunday . While I'm gone I am having the mechanic that installed the turbo do another through test and inspection for the 4th time to make sure his work is good. Call me on Monday.
They recommend using the NGK 4306 plugs and I believe (Rab can correct me if I'm wrong) a plug gap of .028Using the copper plugs the manufacturer recommended. Change coils and all. If you can think it I did it. Even removed entire turbo and reinstalled.
I'm having a issue like this but mostly is warm weather when driving it hard slamming gears. Wot shift. I'll hit 3rd and it bogs and popping rpm sitting at 3500 with wot. Let off throttle and hit wot again it's fine. Can't seam to get anywhere with alpha on help. Cold engine it purrs but after driving it. Idle you hear popping from exhaust like a misfire and sometimes it will shake the entire slingshot like a old car that is cammed out. 3500 miles on the turbo I'm almost done with it. Thinking about taking it off.Hey guys, so I just installed the Alpha turbo and earlier today everything was running fine. Now, on my way home from work it won't hold boost past 4000rpm. It sputters and pops after 4000. My first thought is boost or vacuum leak. Any suggestions?
Do you do anything with the alpha kits? Having issues with mine. Had installed 2 months ago with 51 miles on my ss. I'm at 3500 miles now. Alpha not being much helpGood day, all. I'd like to re-introduce myself. I am the gentleman named Bill Hahn Jr that's been mighty scarce on this forum as of late. I've missed you all, but due to substantial time challenges in business and personal spheres recently, I've not been able to stay as active on the forum as I'd like. Thankfully, this chaotic world is catching up with itself, and my self-imposed hiatus is about to end...but more on me somewhere else, as this thread is certainly about more pressing matters.
Also thankfully, some diligent friends of mine let me know there was work to be done here. I'm sorry I didn't get here any earlier guys, but thanks for the heads-up, and thanks many millions for helping out your fellow Slingshot enthusiasts in the meantime. You are pure gold, and Hahn RaceCraft is indeed fortunate to have such devoted believers.
I've contacted Mr. Solomon to offer what will be an intense salvo of support, as much as is conceivably possible remotely over the web and telephone, and I expect to speak to him today. I share his disappointment, and am still hopeful that whatever is dogging his installation can be found and corrected, thus finally allowing him to enjoy the fine results that dozens of others have achieved with our 2-bar SST TurboSystem.
At any time during this heightened process, we're about one phone call away from the machine vacationing here in Florida, for despite multiple efforts, a solution just does not appear to be forthcoming at its current location. All the same, we are relentless, and no Slingshot has defeated us yet. More to follow.
Boost Regards,
Bill Hahn Jr.
