Over boosting until the fuel couldn't keep up? that's not good. Check the compression if you can. Hopefully you didn't damage anything internally. Boost without fuel is baaaaaad..
Wait a minute, you mean that's Not the SOP?It can keep you from thinking "it is sputtering and popping,, it just needs me to clean it out so ill run it hard for a little bit".
We have all had those moments when something just didn't run right and we want to mash the gas a little harder and see if it clears up!!!
If Polaris was run by Henry, we'd all be Happy, happy, happy.Henry just overnighted the plug to me. Above and beyond for sure.
Henry and the Alpha Team are like that. Great customer service.Henry just overnighted the plug to me. Above and beyond for sure.
Good reason for a boost gaugeHenry called me about an hour and a half ago. He worked with me until we figured it out. Talk about service, he is such an awesome guy! The plug in the wastegate came undone. I was over boosting until the fuel couldn't keep up. It was stupid fast lol.

I think you have a Hahn kit if I remember. You need to have a good shop check several items. You will be the first one that has had an issue so it has to be in the a part that is failing or still something that was missed during the install. It could be a bad IAT sensor or a bad MAP sensor. It will be impossible to really figure it out over a keyboard. You best resource it going to be a good turbo installer.still the same issues as a few weeks back when i posted issues. I had a boost leak at the bov and the throttle body and the leaks were fixed and still not running correct. bike dumps lots of gas and shutters in 5th gear and the idle is very rough.
We figured it out @1poser, a plug from the waste-gate fell off, waiting on a replacement.@SlingDrop be careful sounds like a tune ECM issue causing lack of fuel.
Tango blew a cyclinder with a JonV kit with a bad tune, so it doesn't matter what turbo you're running.
Give Bob @ OBG Diagnostics a call and see what he says (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
Keep us updated.
Glad nothing serious happenedWe figured it out @1poser, a plug from the waste-gate fell off, waiting on a replacement.
Boost gauge and AFR are coming. My schedule does not allow for many installation opportunities so I have to take things as I can. Thanks for all your help guys.
Had three shops look at it. Had smoke leak test, dyno test, exhaust test and all could not find any mechanical issues . All believe it's a tune issue but no one believes me. If it's not right by the end of the summer I will put it back to stock and put the turbo in my fireplace.I think you have a Hahn kit if I remember. You need to have a good shop check several items. Joe, have you tried talking to Bob to see if he thinks that maybe the downloaded flash might have had an issue? You might want to double check to see that the ecu is set for the 2 bar map (If that's what you have - I think that's what you said when we spoke). There's a chance that it may have been flashed to the 1 bar since it's still early in the development of this and the Hahn system is the only one using it from bob. Did you get back to Adam to see what he thought the next best avenue to look into would be?Had three shops look at it. Spoke to bob a while back when I got the flash upgrade and the two bar sensor. He directed me to the folks who sold me the turbo.Joe, have you tried talking to Bob to see if he thinks that maybe the downloaded flash might have had an issue? Spoke to Adam and did everything he asked as far as taking it to a pro shop of their choice. Had a missing seal and a seal that wasn't correctly seated.git it fixed and no change in issues. Was asked to send a email to tech support 3 weeks ago and still waiting?.im at my end point with the hundreds of dollars of diagnostic fees.im in way over my head with getting this turbo to run right that I'm willing to cut my losses and trash it.
Ill be on vacation tomorrow until Sunday . While I'm gone I am having the mechanic that installed the turbo do another through test and inspection for the 4th time to make sure his work is good. Call me on Monday.Joe, don't do that. Give me until tomorrow, and I'll see what I can get resolved for you with whatever i can do on this end. Sorry you're going through this.
