Like you already supposed I agree that most likely not needed, but I just could not leave them holes there and did cover em.....................

Thanks Bill....thinking that way also. Might check local GM dealer; pains me to pay as much for shipping as for the part.

GM does offer a similar part. I have also wondered about covering the hole through which the hydraulic clutch line enters the transmission.

Any idea of clutch line part nr? The Dust cover is 24236514.

I haven't researched any part #. I was just thinking about using aluminum tape to cover most of the hole or to just hold a small cover in place.

Out of a sheet of plastic I formed a cover and bonded it over that opening. That keeps debris from getting in plus a putty knife is all that is needed to remove it if need be.......

Finally got around to installing the Trans Dust Cover. Didn't want to have to jack it up as it can be fairly easily seen if you lean in over the right front tire. Trouble was, I kept dropping the plate, which goes on in a vertical position, while trying to get the bolt in. Then i remember, Bill, that you said you bonded the clutch cover which gave me the idea to dab a bit on contact cement on the plate and face of the Xmsn. That made it easy to get the bolt in, with a bit of Red loktite on the threads.
