Hi everyone,
So I’m about to purchase a slingshot out of state next Sat May 20th and I’m having a hard time finding a finance company who will finance it. My credit union doesn’t offer financing for them and I really wanted to find another option beside the dealership. I do have excellent credit so I know it won’t be an issue in getting financing just trying to get best rate… Any suggestions? Carol

I used lightstream. They gave a better rate than any of the banks I talked to. The rate was the same as the best the salesman said he was seeing.

One possible way is to finance with the dealer and than when back home redo with a local bank.

Credit Karma should be help with this.
Oddly enough my credit union was willing to finance my slingshot (as a motorcycle).
Do have a pre approval. The nice thing about those is your dealer will have an incentive to beat that rate and since both application (primary credit approval and dealer application) are happening close together it won't hurt your credit score.

I financed mine through WECU, Whatcom Educational Credit Union, in Bellingham, Washington. That’s where I live but I bought my SS from a motorcycle dealer in Mesa, Arizona.

The Federal VIN says MOTORCYCLE. That how the companies are to figure out what it is the VIN.
We used Everence Credit Union for our last 2 vehicle purchases (including the Slingshot). Low rates and very easy to work with.

FLORIDA BECOMES 43RD U.S. STATE TO RECLASSIFY DRIVING REQUIREMENTS FOR THREE-WHEELED ROADSTERS
THE SUNSHINE STATE’S “AUTOCYCLE” CLASSIFICATION ALLOWS RESIDENTS TO OPERATE A SLINGSHOT® WITH A STANDARD DRIVER’S LICENSE
FLORIDA (April 2, 2018) – Slingshot®, the bold three-wheeled, open-air roadster has announced Florida, one of the most popular states for the brand given its unique style and year-round sunshine, is the latest state to reclassify its driving requirements as an “Autocycle.” Florida becomes the 43rd state to reclassify its driving requirements, as state residents can now operate a Slingshot with a valid state driver’s license rather than the previously-required motorcycle endorsement. Driving requirements for Florida will officially transition to Autocycle on July 1, 2018.
