Started the install of my DDM Works

I am a self installer and love to work on the SS so the DDM Works Supercharger is perfect for a weekend project. My wife helped me remove the hood and from there I have done it by myself. I removed the front end and my aftermarket fenders which made easy access.

Since I was also installing the center feed fuel rail and steam bypass line I incorporated that into work which takes a bit longer. The fitting on the new gas line was something I was not familiar with but Dave was on hand at the other end and explained how it works via texts with pictures.

I had to take the radiator out to make the pulley and Supercharger install easier and I recommend that be done right off the bat, as this makes the front of the motor work much easier. This was a wrong part shipped with the kit but Dave helped me find a ribbed pulley locally instead of the wrong smooth one I was shipped.

The intercooler is heavy and really needs a hand to install or you will be frustrated. Bottom bracket is not bolted on but holds by friction. Even with the motorcycle jack I used the part kept falling off until my wife came home and helped me hold it long enough to start the bolt.

After installing the actual supercharger I was ground to a halt due to some missing banjo bolt parts for the oil cooler but Dave is going to ship them out on Monday and meanwhile I can go ahead and install the steam line and start tidying up various wiring now.

I have a 2016.5 so I had to remove the extra shroud and plan to leave it off as suggested. Without the shroud, the shoulder bolts that hold the fan on are a bit too long so I added 2 washers to each to makeup for the missing shroud.

I will continue updating as I go along, but wrap up likely will not be done until next weekend, besides I am still waiting for the ECU to come back from boobs, I shipped it out last Tuesday so it should be back very soon.

My story is very similar. I installed my DDM supercharger by myself over the course of a week with the assistance of my wife for the hood and the intercooler. Today I just swapped out the BOV it came with, with an HKS Blow off.

Keep at it, I did mine also, that front pulley is a pain in the ass with the radiator in place but I was able to do it.

Your going to LOVE it. ...

While waiting for the parts I installed everything else besides the oil reservoir and plumbing. Also relocated the remote radar detector and cleaned up some wiring.
Dumb question, does the plastic ware that used to be behind the grill go back on? I gather not but it is unclear, must have missed something.

I actually have the same question. I have been running without them(I.E. I did not reinstall) and not had any issues.

@[email protected] - are we good without reinstalling the plastic shrouds?

I am also getting ready to install my gauges, the Ford Mustang triple gauge pod works great and looks like it should be there on the dash. My gauges required some plastic modifications to the pod but the fit perfect now and the pods looks great with them in.

The plastic behind the radiator can be reinstalled if you like, however there is some trimming of it needed to clear the oil reservoir and the crank pulley overlay. Most of our customers just leave the plastic piece off behind the radiator.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Pics are coming, lol but here is a couple more. I will get some gauge pictures soon, just between being in the hospital and all of the work not much time for picture taking.

Yesterday I shortened the neck on the return water line so I had no interference with the air sensor. Cleaned up the last of the wiring as well and went over things to check for loose clamps and interference issues. I still need to install the oil reservoir and filter as well as the boost control, waiting on the banjo bolts to arrive first.

I received my Welter Exhaust modification that should quiet the exhaust down. I have to make a hanger bracket to support the weight of the dual mufflers out back.

I have to thank the various venders with their help with this build, specifically DDM Works and Welter exhaust. Both have gone out of their way to help and I want to be sure to encourage others to buy from these guys when thinking power.

In the picture you will see a small brass bar near the bottom right, this was a bracket I made to support the Bad Boy Horn as I had to relocate from where it was. The bracket has now been trimmed and painted black so I will not stand out like it does in the picture. The original location is shown by the old bracket on the left that will be coming out now.

I will be installing a new bass woofer as the old one fried, I have to adjust the gains down a bit. Also upgrading two of the side pod speakers to match the ones in the pods behind my head. All of the parts are here now, just need time and energy to install, lol.

Great location! Unfortunately I have my custom made fuse panel installed in that location. The horn faces back wards which may help and the sound will reflect off of the metal shroud and still be plenty loud (I hope, lol).

Boost control?
The vacuum controller that controls the boost, it plugs into the boost tube on the drivers side.
You mean the BOV? That is different than a boost controller.

Some pics of the gauge pod with gauges installed, they are a friction fit so easy to install after cutting the plastic out of the way.

Word of advice the tinted Glowshift gauges don't match the illumination color of the factory gauges. The non tinted white gauges are almost a perfect match.
Just a question but why boost and voltage instead of fuel pressure, oil pressure, oil temp, or air/fuel?
The gauges have multiple LED options for colored lighting but you are correct. I think it will look cool to have the contrast but if not I will replace the gauges sometime in the future. Most of the time the factory gauges are not illuminate so they will only come into play at night.

As explained by Dave at DDM I really don't have to worry about the boost side of things so I went with water temp (I think with inter-cooler I may have to keep an eye on that. Some time in the future I will change the volt to oil pressure but way too much going on now as it is, lol. The cheepo boost gauge is also an item I will change later but for now it will fill the hole and gives a bit of wow factor, lol.
