I know the hood clearances can be adjusted, but I'm not sure if that clearance can really be adjusted. The Slingshot's frame is known to change in response to road bumps and occupant load over time, so some variation is natural. For example, many top owners have found their top didn't reinstall as easily as it did the first time once they took it off after a couple years w/o some force to get everything to fit back together again.
My best guess - You might be ale to remove and replace the two panels for a slightly better fit, but I have my doubts. The painted side panel comes off relatively easily*, but the matte side panel forming part of the cockpit is not that easy to get all of the connectors reinstalled. Search for directions of removing the passenger side cockpit panel/front mud guard typically required when removing the stock exhaust when installing an aftermarket exhaust system. * Look on YouTube for Jim Hutchinson's videos on Slingshot body panel removal.
Good Luck.
