Activate it before you need it. There is a two week delay. You can probably get refunded if you need a tow before your service is activated but for $27.50 AAA motorcycle insurance was activated immediately and my SS was picked up immediately. So, yes, thanks Polaris - I guess.
I just got mine yesterday. Is there any difference between this road side assistance, and what you would expect from AMA?

On a side note, the envelope it came in was purdy...
went to activate mine yesterday...the website would not accept my VIN as valid. Now trying to contact the right people to activate.
I just received mine in the mail, my biggest concern is who/what will be coming to get me if I break down, very unlikely Polaris has a large network of service/ tow providers...and if so what equipment do they have to tow/service your slingshot safely so what will likely happen is if they don't have a service provider in your area, they will ask you to find your own provider and they will reimburse you at their rate...possibly lower than what you paid.
Keep in mind that a AAA/CAA have thousands of service providers in their network in North America....
The trip interruption (if you're more than 200 miles from home) benefit seems to be the only advantage to the Polaris plan.
With automatic yearly renewal, the American Motorcyclist Association's road coverage is the best value for the money, especially as it covers ALL family members in your home. I support the AMA even though I have AAA's road service, which cost several times as much, but offers longer towing distances.

I went AAA rather than the Polaris offering (actually in addition to). I activated AAA MC insurance and the next morning called them to tow the SS. They were here in an hour with a flat bed! Triple A - All the way!
I have been using Good Sams Club for years. Rates are better. They don't have a mileage limit for towing it is to the first place that can fix your vehicle so if it is 300 kilometer it doesn't matter. They phone you back to let you know when your tow will be there and then they phone again to see if the truck came. It is based in the US but I have gotten great service with them in Canada. Oh and thanks to Polaris for the free roadside assistance also.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but check out this post.
AAA Membership with Slingshot Purchase?
Don't forget about the super useful perk that they list on the pamphlet: lockout assistance. Had a good laugh over that.
