Rear axle bearings shot

My wife's slingshot has 7,000 miles and clicking noise coming from the rear tire/axle area. Took it in, and both axle bearings are bad. Anyone else had this problem with such low miles?

My 2015 SL has 26,000 on the clock and the crunching from the rear axle is being looked at by the dealer. The recall of the swing arm including new axle bearings was done at 20,000 miles. I'm out of warranty, however, 6,000 miles on the recall axle bearings is absurd ! We will be appealing to the factory to pay for parts & labor for new bearings. I expect a hard battle ahead. Anyone had a similar experience ?
The total bill for new rear bearings and labor came to $550.00.
After my call to Polaris ( 3 levels up in customer resolution) explaining why I felt that the entire expense should be covered by the Factory--- they agreed.:woot: I have new respect for Polaris !
