Just got our Miami Blue SS-R yesterday with Auto drive. So far really enjoying the auto. It joins our 2018 SLR LE. The wife is loving driving the auto and I quite enjoy it to.

Any 2020 owners here? We are having lots of issues with the new ride command. It basically doesn’t work. At all.

As soon as we plug our phone in the screen freezes. None of the SS app screens will load up and pairing with Bluetooth is all but impossible with either of our iPhones. Just a few min ago I got Bluetooth to stream but the screen said connect to a device and shows nothing connected but music was coming out of the speakers.

The USB worked for about an hour now it quit all together. It charges but says connect usb on the screen and nothing happens. Anytime we would plug in the atereo just locks up and is essentially useless.

it’s so bad I have to think our unit is just broken. There is no way something that blatantly busted is that way across all units.

it’s a real bummer all my other stereos worked great! This one is awful.

the rest of it is fantastic. It rides and drives light years better then previous gens, and I’ve owned all of them. The steering is a treat, auto is interesting lol. They have room for improvement but if you don’t want a stick it’s good for that. It is fun to drive. Motor pulls good and revs high. Handling is excellent. the lights up front look wicked at night!

already ordered parts lol. Wing, windshield, mats, etc.

Congrats on the new ride. We have a 2015 SL and are adding 2019 SL Icon As soon as the rear fender arrives.

Dealer may need to try and re-flash the Ride Command software. If that doesn't work (if I was the dealer) they need to swap it with another machine and see if the problem follow the head unit or it's in the wiring.

Are you using a quality USB cable?
Some aftermarket cables could cause a freeze.

I am jealous - thanks for the post. I "Pre-ordered" a 2020 "R" w/a few options Feb 6 & gave a down payment here in Syracuse, NY. As of yesterday, my 4th time reaching out to the company since dealer is long closed post virus recognition, no word on when or if I will take shipment. Not sure if the factory built my unit or not or if I'll get use this summer or only be buying it to Store It for winter. One of the main reasons I "Pre-ordered" was to get the double 2 year warranty = 4 years to ensure all the new model kinks get worked out at no cost to me especially the engine. That is still an unfortunate pain in the butt for you. Since you can compare to the prior model - can you advise on the engine and exhaust sound for each model and the heat issue from the exhaust? Thank you!

Unfortunately, it is my understanding that Polaris was concentrating on building a supply of the SL models first, deferring productn of the higher-powered R modles presumably thinking demand would be higher for the SL with its comparatively lower price and AutoDrive transmission.AFAIK, no R models were built before Polaris stopped production due to the impact of the coronavirus, so you likely will end up waiting a bit. Sucks, I know (I placed my deposit in Aug 2014, but Texas didn't allow sales until the end of May 2015, so I didn't get mine until the second half of June 2015).

Ugh... I keep wanting to whine...."but I PRE- ORDERED!" but it's like the Seinfeld episode where he said "you know how to TAKE the reservation but the Key is to HOLD the reservation". Where is my PRE order!!!???😖☹

Believe me, I know your frustration. At least your delay is because of the coronavirus and not because some politician had a burr up his as. and held everything up out of spite. The Texas House and the Texas DMV were both willing to allow sales and change the law to classify the Slingshot as something other than a motorcycle, but a Senator held everything up for around 6-8 months.

I received a call back FINALLY that confirmed that manual pre-ordered "R" Models are set to be shipped to dealers in US and Canada "Mid-May". Let' hope my dealer is open by then:)

Hmm, just got a 2020 R today. Its November and the RideCommand and radio work no issues with locking or anything like that EXCEPT. When pairing 2 different cell phones both pair no issue, but the phone audio never comes through the RideCommand? The contacts and everything show up, but you still have to talk and listen through the phone? Anyone else seen this issue?

RideCommand COMMs is one of SlingShot's weaker areas. I think they built it for the off-road vehicles and just didn't get it right for a street ride. It will take some time getting used to.
I mentioned in another post that we no longer wear helmets so COMs through a headset is not part of our equation.
I'm on Android. The phone is paired and connected to the SS. That allows us to play tunes. We do see calls/test coming in but cannot answer them - except when stopped. Sitting side by side allows us to talk at lower speeds and to yell commands at higher speeds.
We have surrender to those features and left it as that.
