I asked member Phatrucks where he saw the service manual for the SS in response to what he posted here in another thread:
Quoted form the Slingshot service manual:
The break-in period consists of the first 500 miles of operation. Careful treatment of a new engine and drive components will result in more efficient performance and longer life for these components.
Do not drive at any one constant speed, fast or slow. Do not operate at sustained idle.
Do not exceed 70 mph (113 km/h).
Do not make full-throttle starts; also refrain from using the full throttle while driving.
Avoid downshifting to brake, or slow, the vehicle.
Avoid making hard stops for the first 200 miles (322km).
Perform regular checks on fluid levels and other areas outlined on the daily pre-ride inspection checklist.
Change both the engine oil and filter after 500 miles.
Adjust drive belt tension at 1000 miles.
He hasn't responded. Maybe he has a copy of the operators manual too.
