Tires: I will be putting on the Nitto NT555 this year. I haven't driven them yet, but everything I've read seems to be favorable, and Kal has them easily accessible.
Suspension: Have you considered a suspension seat? Might be worth investigating. Or even some type of cushioning between the rails and the seat if you don't want to get a new seat. In theory, this would be an easy way to dampen the bumps.
Light bar: I like my lights low. It provides more depth. Just like with the flash on a camera, if you put the camera right where the lens is, everything appears flat. No shadows, no depth. But if you take it off the camera and put it off to the side, you see a lot more. You see the depth of the subjects nose, you see branches in the trees, you see more of everything. You see the bumps in the roads, you see the potholes. The also work a lot better in fog by not reflecting the light back into your eyes.
Balzac Billy: Not sure what I think about listening to a rodent predict the weather, but spring can't come fast enough...
