Need some Canadian advice eh

As the days are getting shorter and Balzac Billy just pronounced an early spring it gets me thinking about some issues that I had last year that can quickly be fixed$$$$. New tires as I have a fear of hydro planing and I know this coming year I will put over the 8000 k I did last year and some of it will be in rain. I don't want a lot of road noise and I need a soft ride. Any ideas about tires that are available in Canada. I am going to paint my rims to match the body.

My next issue is shocks as my back cannot take the bumps on the road and I ride around with my Obus Form back and seat cushion on long drives. The two way shocks from the States are around $1900 US so about a million $$$ Canadian, has anyone played around with different shock options that will cushion your back more.

I have thought about seats but without the ability to sit in some with my oversized ass I will not spend the cash on this accessory and I don't think we have any dealers around who just stock these so I can be like Goldilocks.

A light bar is probably also in the works as it seemed that I was outrunning my lights but again I just may have the factory settings are wrong and I will play with that. Is the best placement for a light bar in the middle where the US models have a headlight or low on the front end where I can take it out on a parking curb?

I figure I will start ripping and tearing the first week in March after holidays and completion of my rebuild on my old quad transmission.

Any help eh? would be appreciated. Canadians are really polite eh.

Tires: I will be putting on the Nitto NT555 this year. I haven't driven them yet, but everything I've read seems to be favorable, and Kal has them easily accessible.

Suspension: Have you considered a suspension seat? Might be worth investigating. Or even some type of cushioning between the rails and the seat if you don't want to get a new seat. In theory, this would be an easy way to dampen the bumps.

Light bar: I like my lights low. It provides more depth. Just like with the flash on a camera, if you put the camera right where the lens is, everything appears flat. No shadows, no depth. But if you take it off the camera and put it off to the side, you see a lot more. You see the depth of the subjects nose, you see branches in the trees, you see more of everything. You see the bumps in the roads, you see the potholes. The also work a lot better in fog by not reflecting the light back into your eyes.

Balzac Billy: Not sure what I think about listening to a rodent predict the weather, but spring can't come fast enough...

What would stop you from a trip into the states and replace the shocks and ride back, who would know?

Just received my new Kenda 265 for the rear. ($137.00 total) delivered to the door off of Fleabay yesterday. (Now you just can't beat that.)Currently I'm awaiting my 1320 Header and Fab Factory muffler (Thanks to a forum member @Shack) along with a full set of (4) 6000 lumen, 35 watt HID's from DDM tuning ($106.00 Cdn delivered). No light bar needed here. I have that set up on our sleds and I mean night and day difference! Pardon the pun. Now I'm looking for an affordable suspension also. Might end up going to Summit racing if our dollar ever rebounds enough and I'll keep poking around and watching the For Sale side of the forum.
Cheers brother Canucks
Have a great day, eh!

I'm sure some folks on here have a few recommendations.. I'm a bit further east.
Hopefully someone from around there will chime in:)

Nothing other than the cost. With the Canadian dollar in the tank versus the American Dollar $1800 is equivalent of $2500 Canadian. Its like my southern friends buying another shock for their 4th tire. Plus even though I haven't checked with Ancestry.com I am sure that I am of Scottish descendants and try to squeeze my pennies to make copper wire which is getting tougher as in Canada we don't use pennies anymore for change.
I am looking at possibly ordering up some parts and pieces up from down south. Along with the slumping dollar, shipping costs are crazy. Does anyone know how to reduce shipping costs ? A lot of the vendors are offering free shipping anywhere in the US. but to ship here in western Canada costs are very high. I also am looking at possibly ordering some PRP seats. Perhaps if we did a Canadian group buy they may offer us free shipping ?
There are a number of companies who do remailing from the States. In Calgary there is a company called DYK POST www.dykpost.com which has offices in Calgary and Edmonton. I am sure that this is not isolated to Alberta and there are other companies like that. You may want to use some key words off the site to find a similar service near you

Maybe it could be like the old days when they wanted us to ski in Montana when our dollar was crap, our great American Friends gave us everything at Par for our dollar☺ Just saying. Maybe a one time special.
I like your thinking but, I'm not sure if they'll bite. I must admit that I was offered free shipping from a vendor here during a "group buy" that offered free shipping with purchase. I stressed I was a Canuck and they still said free shipping "How's that for a deal" I just wish our buck wasn't in the basement or I would have jumped on the buy with both feet. I do recall years ago that areas in Florida where honouring our dollar on par to make sure they got their Snowbirds coming down.
