Our ‘16 came due for registration here in Delaware. We bought it new in April 2016. It also required inspection. I drive it through the inspection line and the inspector informs me it need’s additional red reflectors on the rear sides. I ask him how is that? It was purchased new. I have done some upgrades but none involved taking off any reflectors. He said he believes me but it is short reflectors. He “courtesy” passes it but notes on the record the requirement and tells me if the added reflectors are not there when I come back in two years, it fails.I tell him have a nice day and drive off.

At lots of them at Auto Stores stick on reflectors red - Search (bing.com)
No doubt I can find stick on reflectors at auto parts stores, Amazon, eBay, Walmart whatever but how can the requirements for sufficient reflectors be changed?

Somebody got out of bed on the wrong side.
They've been known to fall off (or be pulled off by owners). The glue wasn't great, and they should have never been glued on without a rivet also holding them in place (from a design standpoint). It is what it is...

At my age just getting out of bed is something accomplished. Just thinking out loud that’s all.

These if they were there must have fallen off on the transport to the dealership or on the showroom floor.

Yep my 15 had reflectors on each side. I kept knocking them off while washing. One day after a ride I noticed one was missing. Pulled the remaining one off and threw it in the trash. Maine also has a yearly inspection but they never mentioned the missing reflectors and it's been inspected 7 years without them.

This is just the first inspection since April 2016 when we bought it. I guess I’ll need to visit my local Walmart sometime in the next 2 years before it goes back.

Refer to item 5 in schematic

Do you have a diagram of where this would be located on the 2016? Ours shows no area where this bracketed reflector would have been mounted.

Thanks. I’m assuming they are stuck on and not mounted with hardware.
Yes stuck on. I knocked mine off several times and had to stick on with 3m tape. I ended up throwing them away. If you are putting them on, I'd drill a hole and put on with push pins.

I bought a new 16.5 with 3.7 miles on it from a guy who inadvertently bought it at a Red Cross charity auction. A fellow forum member trailered it to my house from Minneapolis. When he pulled into my driveway, one of the two rear reflectors was laying on the trailer deck. The other was nowhere to be found. I've only seen one original set in the wild. Polaris decided to make them a disposable part.

Just looked up price on parts shark. Can't believe they are 74.99 each. Mick I didn't throw the one away. If you want it you can have it just for shipping charge.

In MD, the legal requirement is 4 square inches of reflector. Mine fell off a few times, now just sitting on the bench. When I installed a hitch receiver, I used a brake light with reflector which makes up the difference.

I'm pretty sure the one I have is still on the dashboard of my truck. You're welcome to it too, @Mick .
