I have a pedal commander on my 2016 SS. no problem with codes. I run mine on City 1 it has 11 more settings as you move up thru the settings it becomes more responsive. If your not expecting it it can be tricky. got mine from Slingmods. I really like it.
I don't have one, so I can't comment beyond saying Polaris will use any excuse that allows them to avoid responsibility for repairs. If you have one and can restore your Slingshot to stock condition and still have the same problem, then Polaris should not be able to use it as a reason to deny warranty coverage.
As far as no responses, it might just be that people who might be able to comment just haven't logged on and seen the message.
I havent heard of anyone using this device. There are many people using the Pedal Commander and you will have better luck finding reviews and feedback for this. People love it and the install is very easy. Slings Mods has some reviews and videos as well.
I have the Pedal Commander that I bought in a group buy. Not a lot of hours on it yet but no check engine light. I'm out of warranty so no issues there.
That's a good question better answered by someone more knowledgeable about engine codes than me, but the Pedal Commander is a true plug and play and if it is removed there would be no evidence of it having been installed unless it threw a code that could be attributed to it.
@Dave@ddmworks might know the answer to that. He has reviewed how the Pedal Commander works and although tthis is a differeent brand, it should still work in pretty much the same way. It all depends on whether or not the Pedal Commander causes any info to get recorded in the ECU that might reflect its use.
I would suggest a call to your servicing dealer. Tell them you are contemplating this product and ask them what, if any, effect it would have on your warranty. They should be familiar with the product and, if not, I would try another dealer until I got an opinion in which I have confidence. You could also contact the manufacturer with this question. It's always quicker to go straight to the source.
I have a pedal commander in my 2018 GTLE and have put a couple thousand miles in mine without any issues whatsoever. Not sure about the warranty issue. Polaris warranty isn't much to speak of!
You could maybe also contact Bob at ODB diagnostics to see how long till the cpu rewrites values. I had a Dodge Ram where I would remove the tune and drive 100 miles then the cpu would be clear of any pwm, torque or hp spikes.
