I would say yes it's needed, you can't see a damn thing with those tiny little mirrors...
Well MOTOMAC is right, mirrors have limited sight and I added the Fish-eyes to decrease blind spots, here's a point of view;


I always use my mirrors to back up, it took me awhile to get use to only 1 wheel back there because there's no reference to base on when backing up from an angel. With the camera it makes it easier!

Although, the back up camera screen is pretty tiny.. I would say that it is needed. It's already saved me a couple times. It's an akward vehicle when backing especially without a center review mirror.

Seeing that fisheye mirror makes me think that what we need is a mirror that transitions to convex, but cylindrical, so that things are only squooshed horizontally; we don't need an expanded vertical field of view.
