After some research I guess everything would have to be upgraded such as internals, transmission, suspension and etc. I'm surprise a 500whp Sling shot with supporting mods with slicks isn't in the 10s yet? Bad wheel hop or spin during launch?

The Slingshot seems to be more about handling than straight line speed. Like you, I'm surprised that we haven't seen the purpose built drag sling yet. I'm sure someday we will see a build where the focus is on quarter mile time. The four wheel kits would probably be great but you lose the essence of the three wheeled vehicle. A super huge drag slick in the back on a custom swing arm would be cool. There was a build awhile back from some guys called the chrome mafia or something along those lines. They had a custom swing arm with a huge tire on the rear. I don't think they built the engine to put a ton of power through it though. I'm pretty sure theirs was just for looks.

Awesome man, yeah I wouldnt go a far as chrome and super extended arm. Just a little extension and a 305 slick should do the job. Im guessing it's really up to the trans and people wanting to do it.

I was looking at alternatives but track seems to also slows it down as the light rear will lose traction causing it to spin out. Again I haven't seen anyone run Hoosiers and I don't know why. I would love to see two videos of actual good tires on it.

Seen to many people trusting the crap tires that are on it. I spun 3rd at the dealership test drive. Lol

A longer swingarm on the back is great if your having trouble keeping the front end on the ground, but awful if you're having wheel spin issues. To maximize your launch in a Slingshot, you need to bring the rear wheel closer to its center of gravity, not farther away.

Back in the day of high school drags we used to uncap the headers and put throw away wrinkle-walls on our daily drivers for the Friday night hookup. One time use and you better have room under the fenders. I haven't seen any talk of dedicated strip tires here. Just use that offset y'all are talking about for those 345s and maybe you'd clear the swingarm at 4 psi for a pass or two. Don't know - just wonderin'. Feel free to educate me.....

Yes, you could even go wider than 345 with a lower offset. Would do just fine going in a straight line too. I'm guessing you'd start blowing teeth off the drive belt if you start getting too much traction. Would have to convert to a chain.

The belt skips teeth before it breaks them off. Doubt youd ever have to go chain, unless you wanting easier gearing changes.

Good morning @TravAZ. I know you have strip time in and it seems I've read your account of slipping teeth (LOUD!). So if that happens and you want more traction, a chain would be the next step it seems. Has this been done yet? How would this help gear changes?

Well, I'm up early and off to the river to try to put a sturgeon in the freezer.....

Belts are normally more durable than chain in higher stress/horsepower applications. Take a note from the Boss Hoss world or the Slings running V8s.

Chain drive would presumably be easier for gear changes because there are most likely a bunch of different tooth sprockets available from the 2 wheel bike world. You would lower gearing by adding teeth in the back and/or losing teeth in the front.

There are a couple of owners that have been running chain setups for a couple of years. They haven't caught on most likely because there isn't much benefit to the cost of changing.
