My 2022 Slingshot temp got up to 230 while in idle and all the lights came on the dash board

That sounds like the cooling fan is not coming on it should kick in probably around 209 to 212 I'm thinking. Have you fixed the problem ?

my normal running temp in mild weather is about 194. but i do ride in parades and the temp can start climbing up. my question is, how hot is too hot.

I've done some slow parades (4th of July) warm weather and the fan will come on but never showed "hot". I have an 'OEM' system and never any trouble on my 2016 with a 104,000+ miles on it.
