I received the new flash on Saturday, I only had some intermittent events with low RPM / Rev Hang and that crazy over rev thing when it started up. But I spoke to a local dealer and he took me right in and did the flash. Maybe because I was so hopeful it would fix things 4th and 5th gear seem much better, prior to the flash 5 would seem a little bogged down. The low RPM thing hasn't reared its head in the last few hundred miles. We will see how it goes. But my face hurts from smiling every time i drive it.

For me , after the 350 miles this weekend I would say fixed the flare after the flash. But..........I did lose some snap and throttle response 1-3 gear.......disappointment. But.........had side exhaust and CAI installed by alpha and Iam totally happy again. Like Trav mentioned to me, the flashes may include updates that function better at different altitudes. I start at 6,500 and go up from there.
With the flash and no mods , it did seem to let you rev it longer 1-3 gear but still seemed boggy. A improved performance in 4th, and with the mods a big big improvement in 4th gear. Hope that helps.

Is anyone still having the rpm hang? I have the tune from bob and I still have an rpm hang. Are there any other causes for this problem. After driving other vehicles without the Rev hang I realize just how annoying it is. If I can't get it fixed I'm going to sell my ss.

I had mine re-flashed last week with the 2016 update and it did not solve the problem. I want to swap out the ECU and see if that will take care of it but a ECU cost $800 unless some one can test this with a friend that doesn't have the problem.

Shift faster. Seriously. Put pressure on the stick when in gear, push the clutch in and shift it, let the clutch out. Do that 10 times quickly and it changes the program in the ECU to not hang for "everyday folks." Start slacking and you'll get the hang back. Don't skip gears, don't down-shift during stops.

I'm not saying be hard on the transmission, just learn to shift fast if you don't like rev-hang. The first 3 shifts will be a little hard on the clutch plates (don't just jam it in), the next three the engine won't spike as much, then 4-6 shifts later and everything works perfectly. You must be on your game with this "car," at all times. Drive safe, know how to keep it centered in the lane, be a driver, and it rewards you.

The following is just my opinion based on past history and I have no inside knowledge of the programming nor the reasons why it was designed this way. It appears that the ecu actually learns your driving pattern and attempts to "assist" by altering the engine rpm's to better match the shifting and performance of the engine. That makes the rev hanging, rev flare or whatever else you want to call it vary from unit to unit based solely on the way a rider (driver) operates. Bob's reflashing of the ecu does not address this issue, but the performance and efficiency of the engine does improve. Those owners who have had Polaris do the latest ecu updates, (again, IMHO) see an initial improvement since the reflash basically clears the cache (the memory of driving habits if you will) from the prior few sessions of use. Then the newer reflashed version will continue to monitor your driving habits and it returns to some owners, and others who ride more conservatively, do not have the issue return. I agree with hedgehog on the advice given. The problem pops up when you drive it one way for a while, then alter your pattern, and drive it more aggressively. The ecu can adjust, but it doesn't do the think for you or anticipate why you're doing what you're doing.

If your opinion is true then all I have to say is that... IT'S ALIVE ... Lol. I guess if i want to see for myself it's time to drive a bit more aggressive. Thank you Funinthesun for an outstanding point of view

very good advise, makes actualy sense.

The ecu drives different compaired to whos driving. I drive mine hard rev issues kinda died off after awhile. Well my brother inlaw came to visit and was conservative. It drove like crap and the revs were all over the place. After he drove it for ahile it tammed itself and the revs died down. But when I started driving again it was acting all weird again. Now I got the new tune 2 weeks ago and it was a night and day difference. No rev issues at all. I will tell you make sure you have all your aftermarket engine upgrades on before you have the new tune. My dealer had mine running through out the tune. He claimed as it down loaded it learned from your mods and retrained its brain to adjust to your upgrades example cold air, exhaust, etc etc. But the new tune for me created a new machine.

Mine went to 3000 rpm as today, scare the crap out of me
If you don't have an early Slingshot i.e. 2015-2016, it shouldn't be doing that. There was an ECM firmware update that resolved the issue.
