Almost two years ago I spent 40k on a 2013 Mustang GT Convertible. I owned it for one month and 1000 miles. The crap made in China Getrag six speed manual transmission sucked so bad, it made driving the car very unpleasant. I owned a Geo Metro that shifted better, and I'm not exaggerating. Needless to say, after doing much research into it, and trying an aftermarket shifter and shifter bracket, which improved the shifting slightly, but increased the NVH so much that it was ridiculous. I dumped the car.

Polaris......got your ears on there good buddy. I hope so. I didn't discover this thread till today, had I found it, say two weeks ago, the deposit would have been pulled. Too late now, it's paid for, and on its way. Probably going to take delivery Monday or Tuesday next week. If it turns out to be as bad as it sounds, I'll sell it so fast it'll make their heads spin.
I hear what your saying Wriggly. But at that point Polaris wont care. They got their money !!

And once word gets out about all of the issues ( And It Will ) We wont get squat on resale !! Unless Polaris steps up and starts fixing them. No real evidence of that so far !!
I wouldn't worry too much about Polaris NOT fixing this issue. They have two choices in the matter. 1. Fix it as soon as possible to save their image and restore faith on their engineering staff, or 2. Can you say "CLASS ACTION"? They will fix it then. I'm going to wait and let them fix it the first way myself.

Oh, they'd care. Because I've purchase three vehicles from them in the last 10 months, and if the appropriate responses don't take place, there won't be anymore. Ever hear the old adage about lost sales? You never recover lost sales.
And I am a principled person. Piss me off, and I'll sell them all, and redirect myself into other areas, and I have a habit of speaking my mind. Will it put them under or cause any loss of sleep? I think not, but at least I won't be dealing with their sneaky bullshit anymore, and maybe it will be just one incident of potentially many to come that just might get them to sit up and take notice, and then take steps to learn to communicate better.

Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Business woman on plane: Are there a lot of these kinds of accidents?

Narrator: You wouldn't believe.

Business woman on plane: Which car company do you work for?

Narrator: A major one.

One thing to check that may sound weird but the chevy Cruze has a tsb for a valve cover leaking and causing A high rev. The pcv system keeps constant vacuum on the valve cover and they are subject to warp causing a vacuum leak and the idle air control can't control idle. I had one in my shop a few weeks ago doing the same thing. I have not experienced the issue on my ss yet but it may be something to check out. We use a smoke machine to find leaks but they can also be heard with a steathascope or by spraying carb cleaner around and noting if the rpms go up.

Wanted to drop an update. I'm at about 1200 miles and the high rpms have stopped. I've maybe noticed a little rev matching. Seems to happen if I'm accelerating quickly. My sl still drops a little low when going down to idle. I will say it's not bad. Maybe 500 rps before it corrects automatically to 750. Certainly nothing like an old car where you have to pump the accelerator to keep it running! I'm turning into a full blown fan boy here. I love this machine.

Somebody please remember to look down and see what position the Traction Control switch is in when this is happening.. Take note and than push the switch into the other position and see if this affects the hanging r's..
Thanks

This might be related to the other discussion around the stalling from 2nd to 1st. But its a slightly different thing so I wanted to see if others see it as well.

When being a bit aggressive after pressing the clutch in and letting off of the gas I notice the RPM's hang, at whatever RPM it was before until you actually make your shift. (Its nice as you don't have to rev match etc, but its VERY odd and keeps hanging at a very high RPM with no load.)

ANyone else seeing it. Blipping the throttle doesn't seem to improve it either. (I let it go for 4-6 seconds before I gave in and shifted.) My dealer is going to contact Polaris about it.
I get the same thing

I have had this problem since day one and now I have 3800miles 4months old,I am taking my SS to the dealer on May 19th-2015 to get the trike fixed I hope.I spoke to Polaris from Jan 15-15 with this problem with no success.
Three attempts at the dealership to correct the problem. NJ has a motorcycle lemon law. That's my next move. Polaris has my case number on file.
