We were shopping 2018 and was down to the electric blue SLR or the lime squeeze no the SLR LE. After meeting many local sling owners on rides and going to the slingshot roadsters event last year here in Colorado we chose the lime squeeze SLR LE. We made that choice mostly as there were already a ton of them out there in all the other colors and we wanted something a bit more unique. Out of the 40-60 slingshots at that roadsters event, there was only one in the lime squeeze.

We then weighed I the fact that it was a very unique model with options not available in any other model. This model came with the 10 way adjustable shocks and the 200 watt stereo (far better than the stock 100 watt stereo in the other models) along with all the goodies you got in the SLR (better rotors and calipers, 305mm rear tire, tinted windscreen, and the sparco upgrades (steering wheel, shifter, pedals).

We've had ours now since August 6th and already surpassed 6,000 miles and loving it every chance we can get out for a ride, to date I have yet to come across another one in this color locally. And to top it off, Polaris limited the models for 2019 and so far this model isn't even an option so it may have been a one year thing which makes it even more unique to us.

If your going to keep it for several years and not do any after market mods then buy what ever you want, if you may get rid of it in a year or two just realize the resale is terrible and the more money you have in it the bigger your losses will be. There is a $9k difference between a Base and an SLR, for that kind of money you can add the options and get a higher quality of product compared to what Polaris uses. I know many guys bought SL or SLR and replaced all the upgraded features they paid extra for with better quality. (me included).

I was reading about this crazy new machine 3 yrs ago and after a year of test driving and trying to make a deal with a few dealers that had sale ads but when you go down there they added delivery freight and misc. fees....I couldn't make a deal...and then there was an ad for a 2016 sl le for $21,000 w/ 5600 miles and only 35 miles away in the high desert....I wanted one so bad I thought it must be god......It may have been god but maybe not the one I thought.....this thing turns me into a hoonigan….I stuff it into a right hand 90deg.turns at 45mph and it drifts a couple feet and pulls out straight.....I can burn-out 1st and a few feet in 2nd and chirp 3rd....and in a left hand 90deg....wow...almost hit 55mph and.....oh....what was the question....oh yeah.....White...lol....I got it 9 month old 2016 sl le for $16000...he was transferred ...it sucks...for him....Pearl White...

I started looking for a decent deal in the Houston area back in the Summer of 2014. Dealers in the Houston area wanted Freight and Setup fees I felt were way too high ($2-3000 for each) and at least one dealer wanted a non-refundable deposit. At the time NO Slingshot had even been delivered and shortly afterwards, the Texas DMV forbid the sale of the Slingshot claiming it didn't properly meet a legal definition for motorcycles since it had sit-in vs sit-on seating, side-by-side seating vs front-back seating and also used a steering wheel instead of handlebars. I finally went with a dealer over 110 miles away who wanted just a $500 deposit and Freight/Setup for less than $700. I still don't have a comfortable relationship with any of the Houston dealers.
