Around Thanksgiving 2016 I saw a center post cup holder for sale on the net. I can't seem to find then now. I have called around and folks say they saw them also but can't recall who sold them. Please help..

Great idea... But I think that is hideous looking.

Still on the hunt for more cup holders in the SS. Especially after giving one up due to the Stinger top install. The relocation they provided didn't work out for me. Hitting it with my elbow and made for difficult removal of lover item if taller than a soda can.
IN 1978 I built an oak paneled console with a black formica front to hold my 8-track player and equalizer in my 1968 Pontiac LeMans. Reminds me of that.....
I don't think it looks that bad, but wtf do you need a cup holder for in this thing?
You're SUPPOSED to hand your beer to your passenger & say, "Hold my beer and watch this!"

Those long trips/runs. A group of us get together and ride for up to 6hrs on weekends. A drink is a must. Right now I use the sole cup holder and my passenger is forced to hold their own or shove it between them and the center console.
I thought the Slingshot came with cup holders? Left-handed reach-around by the driver...

ALTHOUGH, with the SL windshield I did have coffee blow out of the mug--no problem though, caught it with my shirt, no spillage on the Sling!
I saw the one on EBay and ordered a sheet of 12'x24', 1/4'-thick Black ABS so I can make my own as a custom fit for RTIC tumblers. I plan on using three levels of plastic with the main sheet being the one that attaches to the dash top, a lower level to hold the tumblers and a higher level to keep the tumblers from falling over. The RTIC tumblers are pretty big and top-heavy and have fallen out of the holders in my SUV, so I wanted to customize something. Also, they're tall enough that I also wanted to lower them as much as possible for ease of access while still being able to see my radio and Boost/AFR gauge.

Well, maybe that one on eBay will help shade the infotainment screen too
I bought a yet at Maggie Valley N.C with the S S .... I used the cup holders that come in the slingshot and this Tumblr made by Yeti Works wonderful I just put a long straw in it and there you go I can ride 6 hours and it's still cold. I watched a video from Sam Owens about insulating your cup holders look him up on YouTube it works great.
Good luck all
My standard cup holders always seem to have miscellaneous stuff in them leaving little room for a bottle of something (Gatorade & Vodka......just kidding about the Vodka) to drink.

My SS sits parked next to my bicycle and one day the idea hit.

I removed the cup holder from my bike and mounted it under my right leg on the drivers side. It works great- easy to reach and out of the sun.

See picts.

Safe riding
Barry

I love old threads, but sometimes I don't notice. Like today. I was reading 2W's post above, and couldn't help but wonder. What exactly is a "lover item," and why would someone want it removed? ;) (Sorry. I rather like the center post mounted cup holder that came with my still new Stinger roof.)

What roof do you have? Did the roof come with the cp holder, or was it an add on?
I bought the Stinger roof, made by Twist Dynamics, through SlingshotOnly. Here's the link. I like this roof because while it provides both shade and an overhead console with reading lights and switches for other options, it keeps the open cockpit feel - there is no blind spots from roof pillars. Instead, it is attached to the roll bars, and to a center post mounted in the rear cup holder space. Rather than lose a cup holder, though, one is attached to that post a little higher. For me, it's actually easier to reach. I chose the translucent panels, and for me they're dark enough.

Really nice setup! Price is steep.
Fun Fact: I live about 4 miles from them...
Yes, the price IS steep. That's why I drove my Slingshot through two hot Georgia summers before adding this roof. It wasn't time wasted. I was looking and researching all of the options available, from the Polaris Slingshade on down. I even waited until over 350 of us gathered at Maggie Valley a couple of months ago, so I could see them all in person and talk with their owners. What I learned was that usually, no matter which roof that fellow Slingshotters chose, they liked it, a LOT! That was good news. Oh, I met one or two owners who first bought X and then Y, but my impression was they weren't all that unhappy with X, they just wanted something else. I also spent that time leading up to my buying the Stinger saving up for a roof. I'm a musician, and sometimes make extra money aside from my normal income. That went into my Roof Fund, and in less than two years, I had what I needed for the Stinger. My son and I installed it, and it only took a couple of hours or so - nothing complicated or requiring unusual tools.

I hadn't mentioned this here, but this might be the right time. My Stinger came with a "puncture wound" type of crack in the translucent roof panel on the passenger side. Might have happened in transit, though I could see no sign of damage to it's package. (The various pieces had come in 3-4 boxes, each of which was extremely well packaged and protected.) In any case, after a little hiccough in communications, I received a replacement panel at no charge. It was a quick, easy install. Both Slingshot Only and Twist Dynamics handled this issue very well, and I appreciate it greatly. I'm still having a minor issue with the driver's side latch - doesn't always want to release easily - but I'm working on it. Not about to send it back for that.

I even added a small LED light bar that attached to the front of the center post. I don't use it all the time, but the other night it helped me spot a deer standing the road on a small, winding highway.
Love this roof! For me, it was the best option.
