Anyone replace the sensor themselves?
I remember reading someplace about someone doing it themselves, but I can't remember where I read it. IIRC, it involved removing the brake fluid from the master cylinder so the sensors could be replaced.Anyone replace the sensor themselves?

Probably a good idea to have the dealer do it since Polaris will cover it. Note the last step above - Bleed brake System...Thanks, since they are going to cover it, I'm having it done in a couple weeks. Looks like a pita.
I Googled "Polaris Slingshot Brake Sensor Service Advisory" and got this link as the first result - https://www.slingshotforums.com/threads/brake-sensor-failure-service-advisory.166105/I just purchased a 2015 SL from a private seller and am having the brake failure light issue. I see the photo of the advisory here but searched all over online and can not find a copy to print and take it. I ran my VIN on Polaris website and it does not come up as a recall. I just want to ensure If I take it in it’ll be covered. I called dealer and they said “they won’t know until they look at it”. Any advice where to get this document to take with me when I take Slingshot in?
Thanks. Yes, that link brings us to this post. I was wondering where I could find the entire 15 page document. The photo is page one of 15. I’d like to have a copy to take into dealer to ensure it’s covered and they have all the info.I Googled "Polaris Slingshot Brake Sensor Service Advisory" and got this link as the first result - https://www.slingshotforums.com/threads/brake-sensor-failure-service-advisory.166105/
I assume the ECU treats a disconnected sensor as a bad reading from the sensor, triggering the malfunction light. Just take it to a dealer for a free fix.I just bought a 2015 with 2500 miles and light is on . what I do not understand is if I unplug the sensors they should not activate light right ?. but unplugged they do after a few pumps of pedal .
Thanks so much this post was a big help and saved me moneyIf you paid to have them fixed, you should be able to get a refund. View attachment 164881

Make friends with the Slingshot Tech....I'm usually gets a little lunch.Resurrecting this thread to mention that as someone who just purchased a used 2015 Slingshot SL from private owner, I had this issue and with the help of a great shop advocate we were able to still get it covered (in 2022) by Polaris even 2 years after this repair was supposed to end (2020). Great experience with both our tech and with Polaris honoring this, even though we're way past their deadline they still honored it- says a lot about the company to me!
