If you paid to have them fixed, you should be able to get a refund.

I wonder if this advisory also applies in the future to switches that have already been replaced?

Bill
My replacement sensors installed during last year's recall are starting to fail again. If I can get the Slingshot to start w/o the sensors triggering the BF light, I can use my cruise control until I have to use the brakes to come to a complete stop. On rare occasions, I might even be able to stop w/o the sensors triggering.
I'd really like to know the real impact of trying to bypass the sensors, specifically, what if any systems other than the cruise control are affected when the sensors trigger the BF light?
I just had the sensors replaced 2 weeks ago. I hope they don't fail again.... If they do, will they be covered???
looks like they should replace them until 2020

I've read of people who had them replaced out of warranty and had to pay for the replacement. It doesn't sound like the word is getting back to the Slingshot owning public and if you read the TSB it looks like the dealers aren't encouraged to be proactive either.

Yes, seems a bit shady to not even notify the owners of the service bulletin and instead try to keep it a secret. Fortunately some are extremely good at digging up this stuff and sharing. I would be willing to bet that if you had the problem and replaced it at your expense at the dealer, that dealer is probably not going to call you back in to pick up a refund unless you go and ask for it.
Such practices are common in the automobile industry. IT all comes down to pleasing the bean counters and not paying for anything they can avid paying for. This type of Service Advisory basically acknowledges there is a design problem, but it's not warranted sever enough for a costly recall and therefore owners who have already paid for the repair are left with the bill (unless they complain loudly enough) while new occurrences of the problem are settled while, hopefully, a new design is slipstreamed into production and existing vehicles with the problem.
interesting I had my 2015 Sling in for other service and asked to have the brake light sensory on May 8th 2018. I was told that my sling was no longer covered, so I would have to pay over $225 to have this taken care of...

Thats not right...

Was your SlingShot displaying the warning light? if not, then the advisory states that the switches will not be replaced simply as a precautionary measure. If yours was displaying the light, then you are correct, it is not right. Maybe you might want to take a copy of the advisory in and present it to them?

You should be able to get a refund from the dealer if not call Polaris.
I def will be doing that.... It's to bad I need to do that. Not sure if that is good customer service....?
My light just started coming on from time to time...guessing this I am out of warranty I am going to have to pay for it to be fixed out of pocket?

Oh wow...that would be great if I don't have to shell out any money for it. I'll give my dealership a call and give them the TSA code and all that. Thanks!
Polaris sent out a Brake Failure Service Advisory, but when I went to the dealer, the dealer replaced the brake sensors as a Recall, even though I've been out of warranty since late June '17.

I just had my Brake Sensors replaced for the second time. The dealer listed it as a Recall on the paperwork and cited the TSA. Per the TSA, all brake sensor replacements should be covered thru Dec 31, 2020. IF anyone had it done before the Service Advisory was issued on Apr 26, 2018, they should contact Polaris and hopefully receive a refund or merchandise credit, based on posts I've read about folks doing so.

We'll see...I have tried to avoid RMCP as much as I can unless it's for recalls. I spend no money there lol.
