My first thought was to try sanding it out, but that might be noticeable compared to the rest of the finish. A little spray paint, maybe? You might be able to blend it on to the flap.
I've found that Gunk Foamy degreaser cleans really well with no surface damage. Wash with soap and water after using the Gunk, then treat as above.Wash first with a really good dregreaser and water and then use one of the two products listed above. They both work good!
Take some black spray paint and spray it on a rag pretty wet and dab it on the spots. I had a similar accident. This method worked great for me. This stuff works miracles. It kinda chemically remelts the very top surface to make it look just manufactered. View attachment 168465
There is a product at auto stores called "Back to Black" made by "Mothers". I've used it with fairly good success on care bumpers & black plastic on SS. If the surface of yours is scored by the chemical, not sure it would help; but then it wouldnt hurt either.
