My first thought was to try sanding it out, but that might be noticeable compared to the rest of the finish. A little spray paint, maybe? You might be able to blend it on to the flap.

This stuff works miracles. It kinda chemically remelts the very top surface to make it look just manufactered.

There is a product at auto stores called "Back to Black" made by "Mothers". I've used it with fairly good success on care bumpers & black plastic on SS. If the surface of yours is scored by the chemical, not sure it would help; but then it wouldnt hurt either.

Wash first with a really good dregreaser and water and then use one of the two products listed above. They both work good!

I've found that Gunk Foamy degreaser cleans really well with no surface damage. Wash with soap and water after using the Gunk, then treat as above.

Take some black spray paint and spray it on a rag pretty wet and dab it on the spots. I had a similar accident. This method worked great for me. It blends very well.

so I'm reading all your replies and I think well the clutch reservoir is plastic so I look close and I didn't think it etched or melted the plastic so I get toothbrush and degreaser and take 50% away....so I grab my brass toothbrush style brush did a little better so I tried more abrasive type cleaner comet and it really started to disappear …..so continued 4 or five times....didn't have anything to restore plastic except old bottle of amoral since I stopped using and went to 303 and pledge for the sling so this is the results....I can hardly see it.....maybe more cleaning or idk.....but I can live with this...thanks all of you for your input...but here it is

I did that on my goldwing... I used black shoe polish, worked well.
A little late, but I happened to see this in WallyMart last night.

Made just for re-painting plastic trim.
