Has anyone done their own belt adjustment. I have the SS off the floor on floor jacks, changing trans and oil fluids. I see two bolts and one adjusting screw/nut. It doesn't look complicated but I may not be seeing the whole picture. I thinking, loosing the two bolts and then clockwise on the adjusting nut??

Now you want about 1.5 inch deflection when cold and when you go to torque the 18mm tension nut, don,t go to tight with it. It will cause your belt to get to tight again.
Have a good look at this thread. It will answer a lot.
I think about page 10 is where he deals with the belt tension.
Some food for thought???

I'm running my drive belt at 1.5 inches of play when on the ground and belt/pully are cold. When riding for half hour the belt tightens up to what I would call an acceptable tightness. The factory has the belt and the 22 mm nut waaaaay to tight. The nut should be torqued to 20 ftlb.
