Has anyone been noticing an exhaust rattle with their adjustable exhaust from Alpha. I have been getting an exhaust rattle at certain RPMs. I checked the band that holds the exhaust to the motor and it is tight along with all the other bolts holding the exhaust to the header.

Hope you have better luck than I have had. I called two weeks ago tech told me he would have to get with someone that was at Maggie somewhere. I told them that something was rattling in the muffler have not heard from them at all. Left a message a week later no return call.

Hey guys it's not inside the muffler, it's the location proximity of the muffler to the engine block. If you have the stock manifold there should not be a problem, but I have the 1320 and when installed, the muffler body rested firm against the block. All SS's are not the same built. I had to put a washer where it was touching the block. If you have a rattle, it's that location or where the exhaust tip is close to the frame. It maybe hitting. It's not internal.

I cut out a portion of the lip just for assurance that it wouldn't touch the frame.

I wonder if the new Alpha header resolves that problem.

I used cycle springs for the muffler. But now order from slingmods. Live and learn maybe if I had bought a 5000 dollar turbo they would return my call. I have reinstalled the stock muffler and now I have a 750 dollar pice of junk metal.

I also have the rattle and it seems to an internal issue. Probably the internal flap that opens and closes to increase or decrease pressure thus changing the sound characteristics.

Our current solution is to remove the mechanism and spray a little bit of wd-40 onto the gear shaft. Afterward, put Loctite on the three bolts and reinstall the mechanism. If you experience further issues, please contact us.
