Alberta owners

I have paid my deposit on my SL and was told I would get delivery April 15 or sooner. Based on the Dec. 23 news release it sounds like I will get it before the end of Feb.

I'm in the Calgary area and would like to hear from other Alberta owners, especially their experience in getting insurance. My usual insurance broker, which insures my two present motorcycles, told me they can't insure any motorcycle with an engine larger than 2300 cc. They did get a third party to give me a quote of $2,500 for full coverage. I phoned several other insurance brokers, most told me they can't get me coverage, but I did get a second quote of around $3200 for full coverage. I'm a senior with a clean driving record so these are outrageous rates! If I can't get a better deal I'll likely just put on the required third party liability insurance which was quote less than $400.

What is your experience (Alberta only please as I have read most of the USA experience in this forum)?

Welcome MiniMan!

Just got my SS this morning! I also do not do FB, but I also would be interested in any rides you organize. I'm located one mile west of the city on Lower Springbank Road.

I should update everyone on my insurance experience. I again phoned TD Meloche Monnex's direct Calgary number and was told again they would not insure it. But based on Thunder and Rick Danger's advice I went to their web site and got an online quote, then phoned the 1-800 number at the end of the quote and they give me the insurance as per the on line quote????? Same company, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing!

Looks like a nice spell of weather is just starting so hope to get out for my first ride soon. Too much snow/ice/slush/sand/salt on the roads to drive it home this am, so I used a tilt bed tow truck to get it home.

Will keep you in the loop for sure.

I went thru my broker whom went thru echelon... 500 per yr full coverage.. Check it out before you make decision
Hi all.
I was at the Motorcycle and ATV show in Edmonton yesterday and got a quote from Klondike Insurance booth $825. I don't have my class 6 yet. Wrote my written learners for class 6 on Thursday. Echelon will insure me before I get my drivers test completed. My insurance company would only insure after I get my class 6. The price from Klondike will go down after I get my license. At least now I'm legal to ride with my buddy and his slingshot (he has his license) before I get mine completed.

Nordic quoted me $2650 for full coverage. I am a 9 year driver with a clean record and first two years was motorcycle insurance. I Put a request in with two other brokers and they both turned me away. Now trying with Dalton Timmis, Cycle works Edmonton tells me people are getting covered around 700-800.

Hey,

From Edmonton. Looking to replace my motorcycle with an SL (Diavel was stolen last year). Has anyone looking into winter storage? Best I can find is 200/month which seems kind of steep.

Just finished the calculations and it should make it down my ramp without scraping. Last hurdle is the accept it will be as fun as a motorcycle to drive around.

I'll be financing it, anyone have rate estimates for Alberta?
I store it in my garage.
Financing is based on your credit.
170km later nd its a fucking blast

Hey guys. Just picked up my titanium last friday, and already have 460km on it! After reading through this, it looks like I better pick up the phone and call around a bit. I'm at 2450 a year with Nordic

If anyone is setting up a ride, let me know. I'd love to get out for any rides possible!
Are there any sponsoring vendors or Slingshot specialty shops in Alberta ? The currency exchange along with shipping is a tough one to take at this time. Let me know if there are any shops, stores or vendors around here.
Thx
