I have had good results with all but 1 of my cat deletes in the past, when it came to fumes:vomit:. Anyone notice a fume issue after the removal?

Yes I noticed the fume smell, the odor wasn't there before the cat delete. When the aftermarket calms down on pricing I will order another exhaust that dumps out elsewhere.

We definitely need a stainless test pipe bolt-in solution that doesn't increase the noise much under normal acceleration and directs the exhaust away from the vehicle.

$600 for a high-flow muffler is not exactly the solution we have in mind.

I just installed new headers with muffler I looked inside pipe of removed cat and it was coming apart not good and only 700 miles now power is great and sound

Hmmm, that just reminded me... about 15 years ago, I bought the first Toyota MR2 Spyder convertible. It had three of these small inline catalytic converters. Within eight months of owning that piece of crap, twice, one of those three cats failed, collapsed, blocked the exhaust and pretty much destroyed the engine. So glad my SS is now cat-ified, cat-gutted, cat-less.

just ordered a cat delete pipe from slingmods. Hopefully this will give me the sound im looking for.

What is the best way to disconnect the springs on the down pipe?

The best way is a Spring Hook Tool, though a flat-blade screwdriver and stout needle-nose pliers will work for removal, installation works slightly better if you have a Vice Grips, though again the proper tool works even better.
