Like many of us here in the office, you are waiting impatiently to get a chance to walk around the Slingshot. Only a select few members of the media, attendees of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and dealers in attendance of the Polaris Dealer's Show have been lucky enough to check out this awesome new machine in person.
We have found that the photos do not do it justice. The presence of the Slingshot is unlike any other machine on the road. It is low, wide, and sleek. Comparisons to other 3-wheeled vehicles have been drawn, but I fail to see the comparison other than the number of physical wheels and tires.
Polaris felt this exact same way. When you have a revolutionary vehicle, it calls for some revolutionary technology to show it off! Enter the Polaris Slingshot 360 App for iOS, and Android. Through the use of Augmented Reality, you will be able to see the Slingshot in a way that has never been seen before. You will be able to use a "Trigger Image" to anchor your Slingshot to your desk, table, work bench, or whatever setting you would like to see your Slingshot experience. The video below gives you a basic tutorial of the best use for Augmented Reality that we have seen yet!
PI is pulling out all of the stops to whet the appetites of the motoring public. I, for one, am ready to see these machines on the road! I have been lucky enough to drive one, and let me tell you that it is as amazing as the technology that is showcasing it!

Through augmented reality, you can bring Slingshot to life, by taking a virtual tour around it, learn about its key features, and snap a photo to share with your friends. Get ready for an exhilarating ride unlike any other.
Can I just say how pleased I am at Polaris (my favorite powersports brand) combining a cool vehicle with nerdy tech? I love this app and demonstrate it wherever I can!
Kip, any chance you could send me a couple?
I requested from my local Polaris dealer over a month ago, but still nothing?!

Thanks!

I've dropped them in the mail, and they will probably go out tomorrow. Sorry, I got caught up doing some extra work from the three-day weekend, otherwise I would have sent them out with today's mail.

Man, I'm sorry, I made an error on your address somehow and your card came back to me. I'll add one more card in for the trouble, and it should be on its way to you soon.
Just found this APP thing! This is awesome! Gimmicky but fun to play with for like 2 minutes. LOL Better on a tablet than a phone. Just download the app as listed in the first post and have the trigger image emailed to yourself and print it out. It doesn't have to be a color print out.
I took a picture of an SS on my desk.
Also, @WI_Hedgehog "we" have a YouTube channel? Hasn't been touched in over a year. Just pondering what we could do with it. Polaris Slingshot Forum

For the "newer folks," this forum was around before the Slingshot was announced, and the handfuls of members at that time were speculating what the machine would be based on patent filings. Whenever anything was found it was big news. Members were really excited about owning a concept vehicle that wasn't fully designed yet. People had put money down without knowing what the release date was, or even what exactly they were buying. The best they had was leaked information, magazine reports, and the occasional video.
After the initial release Slingshots were hard to get, in high demand, and members like @DKF Texas had an even longer wait before they could buy one. For many, "news" about Slingshots was all there was. Even the news was hard to come by, which is why the channel was created and videos were shared.
Now there are lots of owners, many with GoPros and even some with 360° cameras. Quite a few videos exist, and buying a Slingshot doesn't usually require being put on a wait-list, you can buy one off the showroom floor.
It was great having a place to dream about the Unicorn! Gained some amazing friends and memories
