I did a search for slingshot on fire and found nothing relevant.

I know some of you have been here since the beginning but others just joined and might be alarmed by seeing such a video and would like to know what the heck happened.

If one of you old timer wouldn't mind linking the thread where this was discussed that would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps you should look more carefully:

Here is a video of recent Slingshot on fire...

    Smokin' Slingshot - UPDATE

There is at least one more, but you get the picture......guess they weren't relevant though.

We will probably never know what happened.

Could be a problem caused by aftermarket items, a bad fuel line clip, a person inside that was smoking and accidentally ashed inside, a flaming comet from space, etc., etc....

    Pick your guess.

If you smell or see fire, please remember to speed, swerve, and flip to put it out. ;)

When I said not relevant I meant that the thread had no information as to what actually happened, poor choice of words my bad.

The thing burned to the ground so there is really no way to tell if owner did an improper mod or what. There was some rumors out there about mods that were done and how it was driven but you know how rumors are.

Don't sweat it. It's the only one I have ever heard of burning and that's out of well over 17K built. It's a non-issue IMO.

People who are not really qualified attempt to do stuff well beyond their abilities all the time. And these are usually the people that blame the manufacturer or aftermarket part suppliers for their screw ups.

Like Blitz says: Speed costs money son, how fast you want to go?

It works rather well. But, it's not Google. So, you have to work with it.
