Does the cigarette lighter socket stay hot or go dead when the key is turned off?

Sorry for the simple question but it is in the single digits here and it would be a major project for me to go out and check it.

    Thanks

The one in the glove box is only hot when the ignition is on. The one between the seats is hot all the time.

I believe the glove box Cig lighter goes dead, the one between the seats always "hot".

Good deal thanks for the quick answer. I plan on using a Battery Tender Jr. and a cigarette lighter plug in to maintain the battery. Easier and cheaper than getting the battery charger hook up kit.

I like to ride mine often enough even in the cold that I don't need the battery tender!!!!!!!!!

I use the center to plug in the Gerbing heated jacket liner and head down the road. NO snow can go............

I put two more plugs in that same area so we could plug in our seat coolers and still charge a cell phone. No problem with amp draw as all are very low amp users.

Is there one between seats or is it an add-on?
