    Greetings All,

I've only had my slingshot for a week and I've already dropped over $1000. The little lady thinks I'm crazy and while I can't argue about that, somehow I'm completely normal in this community. I told her I'm showing restraints with these modifications and asked for her opinion on a few parts to draw her into the process (how brilliant is that)

My question is "How Much" of a total investment... scratch that, total expenditure a newbie like myself expect to have in this mistress I'm spending any chance I get. I understand those of you have hardly any money into your ride. I know that is your story and you're sticking to it but for the rest of you fellow crazy members, what's the real number I'm taking out of my kid inheritance?

I've really taken the budget route...Got mine out the door for $18,600 for a 2016 Base. I have spent just over $5K in mods. Puts me at roughly $23K-ish.

I haven't heard of anyone getting out the door for $18,600. What a deal!

You've done well and I admire your control.

The key is to remember that the Slingshot is an incredible machine 'as-is' and you don't have to modify it. If you can think like that, then you can wait till someone puts the parts you want on sale, or better yet, selling used. I got a Sparco steering wheel for $50 on ebay, %20 off my Velocity seats, Alpha exhaust cover for $30 from Alpha as a factory second and a used Twisted Dynamix top for $900 ($1500new).

I kept a spreadsheet to track purchases. After a $24K OTD price, I am now sitting just over $32K. :O
