I just looked at mine and have no clue how your hood could be hitting the mirrors. There is at least 3/4" clearance on each side of my hood - passenger and driver side.

    Yeah, something doesn't sound right.

Here is a pic of my D.S. Mirror. Never touched by me since new. Plenty of clearance as you see:

I NEVER drop mine......lay it down as softly as possible than a light
push on front and than a little heavier push on each back portion near the mirror where the back latch is. 2 years and 44,000 miles
    no problem....

To adjust the mirror loosen where attached to the body retighten and
than move the mirror ---- takes a little push to move. I have also added the mirror extensions (about a year ago) and recently the
convex mirror, adds a great deal of sight to what's behind...

    I agree 100%.

I did that drop thing for a while and read a thread (I believe by you EJ) where you noted let it down lightly and then gently push above each of the four latches.... Works like a charm and no more slamming (which isn't good even if you have the heavy duty hood latches like I do).

is it possible for air getting under hood while dropping from 2ft up...I tried lowering it easy then just pushed in corners to lock....didn't hit....that may be the way I will shut from now on

Me thinks your mirrors were adjust inward at some point.

I think that I would be looking at Polaris for a new hood.....We have dah haood and such replaced with less damage... I always heard 6 in for the drop not 2 ft. but again I NEVER drop mine...lay down gently and push down on the four points...

yeah....that's what I was thinking.....but when I tried to adjust mirrors to see if I could move the bracket out, they wouldn't budge ....they are adjustable within the mirror housing aren't they...
