I am not much of a electrician, especially when it come to vehicles. Is there any reason why they have the switch for the headlights in the Canadian models? Can it be wired to always be on? I have installed a garage door opener switch in my SL and now have no more empty switch locations.

I just had the Canadian Headlights added and they are hard wired
with all headlights to come on when the ignition is on.

Ej, the Canadian sold SS has a switch on the dash that as far as I have been told by the dealer was to switch back and forth from low and high, dealer was not aware that the signal lever could also switch them back and forth.
I have thought about taking this switch and just connecting the wires together behind the dash and reusing the switch for something else as I find it very useless as I never switch the lights from there just the lever.

I don't claim to know anything about the wiring---I would think if
you could check on the US wiring that you could follow that and
it would work just fine. Just had my lights added a couple of weeks ago and haven't had a chance to drive at night. Several of the guys I know have added them and really like the extra light.

Probably have someone check the repair manual and it probably has the info there. I don't have a picture but on the Canadian models we have 2 factory switches above start button, one is for hazard lights and the other is to toggle between low and high beams. You can also toggle lights with the signal lever. Seems redundant but that's what it does. I have never used the dash switch as I use the signal lever just like a car.

You might check with your DMV as some states like Illinois only allow you to burn 4 lights at once. Like factory cars with lower fog lights always turn off when you switch to brights because your turning 2 more lamps on.
