I wonder if anyone else is curious about maybe having the swing arm replaced with another color when they do the recall. Was thinking blue, black or even silver. The red would clash with the blue Bilstien springs when I upgrade. Would love to do a black and blue all around setup with blue CAI and maybe some dark cf under the hood.. black and blue interior. The accessories out there would be a cool change from the over done red and black I see on so many of the black pearl slings.

I asked this exact question to my dealer last week when I called about the recall. I wanted to get a black swingarm, I asked if I could pay the difference (if there was any) for a different color swingarm. He told me something about how Polaris only made/sends out specific swingarms for each vin number. I don't know if he was telling me the truth or just blowing smoke up my a$$. If anyone else has any input it would be appreciated!

True---all recall parts have to be 'ordered' by installing dealer per
VIN #. I do know that some guys have requested that the 'swing arms' be painted before the install and have worked that out with their dealer. That is a dealer/owner agreement.

    All correct comments above.

Your best bet is to have the replacement arm installed, bring it home, remove it, pull the seals and bearings and have it powder coated to your specifications.

Pulling the swingarm is not real difficult to do.

There was someone on Facebook that was able to get the Swingarm from the dealer when they got their recall. They took it to someone that powder coats and had it done, brought it back and the dealership installed it. I am sure each dealership is a little different with their rules.

Dealer said the SLR has a different swing arm, does it not?

No. Color changes and revisions for the recall part #, but the arm is the same, 2017 or 2015/16. Titanium is the only carryover color but part #'s are the same.

I put SLR rims on my 16.5 SL and have no problems so it makes me believe they have the same swing arm.

My eye balls must need recalibrating. When I looked it looked deeper and beefer, maybe the orange color fooled me. Not the first time and I hope the Good Lord doesn't make it the last time.
