In an article coming from CarAdvice.com, there might be a real possibility that the Slingshot will hit the Australian and New Zealand-ian markets.

As you and I already know, the Slingshot is a "segment defining product," and pretty much everyone that I talk to that knows about the Slingshot, it really excited about it! As far as we know, the Slingshot will be available for the US and Canadian markets upon it's release in the coming months, but the word on the street is that other markets are already exploring the feasibility of the Slingshot in their markets.

According to the Polaris Australia, and New Zealand managing director, Peter Alexander, "We will work with regulators in regards to what it will take to bring the unique Slingshot to our marketplace." There are some hurdles that will need to be overcome in the foreign markets just as there were many stipulations that Polaris had to meet with the Slingshot in the US and Canadian markets. The fact that the Slingshot is classified as a motorcycle is one of these stipulations. Other markets will have regulations unique to themselves, so it will be interesting to see what happens. Alexander also stated, that, like other Polaris products such as the Sportsman ACE, “should the Slingshot come to Australia, classifying it could also prove problematic.”

In reference to the Slingshot making the swim across the big water to AUS and NZ, the timing is still very grey, and they are “looking into the homologation and also the market for such a model in Australia, which at this stage is just exploratory.”

Do we have any Australians or New Zealanders among us? What do you guys think?

Like many of us here in the office, you are waiting impatiently to get a chance to walk around the Slingshot. Only a select few members of the media, attendees of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and dealers in attendance of the Polaris Dealer's Show have been lucky enough to check out this awesome new machine in person.

We have found that the photos do not do it justice. The presence of the Slingshot is unlike any other machine on the road. It is low, wide, and sleek. Comparisons to other 3-wheeled vehicles have been drawn, but I fail to see the comparison other than the number of physical wheels and tires.

Polaris felt this exact same way. When you have a revolutionary vehicle, it calls for some revolutionary technology to show it off! Enter the Polaris Slingshot 360 App for iOS, and Android. Through the use of Augmented Reality, you will be able to see the Slingshot in a way that has never been seen before. You will be able to use a "Trigger Image" to anchor your Slingshot to your desk, table, work bench, or whatever setting you would like to see your Slingshot experience. The video below gives you a basic tutorial of the best use for Augmented Reality that we have seen yet!

PI is pulling out all of the stops to whet the appetites of the motoring public. I, for one, am ready to see these machines on the road! I have been lucky enough to drive one, and let me tell you that it is as amazing as the technology that is showcasing it!

Polaris Slingshot is making its ‪#‎Sturgis2014‬ debut.
Last year Polaris dominated the headlines at the Sturgis Motorcycle rally with the launch of the all new Indian Motorcycle lineup. This year they kicked things off by introducing the all new 2015 Indian Scout. Well they didn't stop there. Polaris also brought the Slingshot to surf the asphalt and make waves at one of largest gatherings of motorcycle enthusiasts! Hopefully we'll get some good feedback from the event.

Polaris Industries. When I say that name, I think of the good old days where my uncle used to run the snowmobile drags in Southern Colorado on his hopped up Polaris sled, or I think about the first time that I saw a RZR S and got to rip it down a tree-lined trail. Polaris, in my mind, has always been about speed and excitement. Every year they bring something to market that is assured to get your blood pumping. They do it by taking a product that you know and love, improving the suspension, shoehorning a bigger motor into it, or coaxing some more performance out of the existing motor. Sometimes we get front row seats to something that completely shifts the paradigm... That time is now, and that thing is the Polaris Slingshot!

This machine is something that has been in the pipeline at Polaris in some form or another for longer than I can even convey to you. Rumor has it that it has been in the back corner of the skunk works at Polaris for over a decade. The year 2015 will be a special year for all of us who have been watching the internet and listening for whispers of a new project on the keystrokes of the tireless internet detectives. The year 2015 will be the year that all of our hopes and fears for the Slingshot are going to be put to the test.

Will the Slingshot be a case of "Don't meet your heroes," or will it be a case where you meet your hero and he is so much better than you could have ever imagined? I had some lofty expectations walking into my first meeting with the Slingshot. I had read all of the rumblings from the internet, and had some second-hand stories filter across my desk. Statements like, "Oh man, I can't even tell you!," "You are going to freak out!," and "This thing is sooo good!" I took that all with a grain of salt and thought, "Okay, this thing might be good. I mean, look how good their RZR line is. Polaris knows what they are doing, but I could also see it going out with a wimper." I am always wary...
